Working the subject from the edge towards the middle of the painting there is an attempt to confuse the viewer on what the subject is and isn’t. For me the title gives it away, but I leave interpretation to the viewer. Charcoal plays a big role in this composition which is applied to a flooded surface. This feels like one of my most interesting portrayal of space because the ghosty white forms are modeled and the black space recedes gradating into the distance.
