Low ceiling is a term used in aviation to describe lowering clouds, a distinctive feature of the active Nevada sky. I combined images of my former home with ancient Roman tomb statues (the woman’s face eradicated by time and erosion) and African women bearing disproportionate burdens. Finally, a sensuous woman copied from a 19th century painting merges into the landscape, her identity also obscured.
