Jet magazine was an American magazine that focused on the happenings and goings-on of African Americans all around the US. The collaged pieces from magazines reflect the rich diversity of the stories shared on a weekly basis and are incorporated within a warm pallet of crimson, emerald and umber hues. Soft pastel marks energetically move amongst the collaged story headlines and excerpts from stories of entertainment, politics, sports, social events, as well as features on unusual personalities, places and events along with a peek at the weekly beauties. American stand-up comedian Redd Foxx called the magazine “the Negro Bible.” An old window and frame enshrines the assortment of literary fodder.
